Spain grants a "Golden Visa" to non-EU citizens provided they have made a considerable investment in Spain.

For this the applicant must meet a number of criteria:

• have not entered or remained illegally in Spain or have been denied entry into any of the Schengen countries.
• not be a citizen of the European Union.
• be 18 years age or older.
• have no criminal records in Spain or in the country of last residence.
• have public or private medicale insurance valid in Spain.
• have sufficient financial resources to keep both the applicant and his family in Spain
• prove of having invested in Spain.

One of the investment requirements is the acquisition of Spanish real estate for a value of at least 500,000 euro (excluding taxes)
The “Golden Visa” is valid for 1 year, after that, a residence permit can be requested for 2 years and then for another one for a duration of 5 years as long as the investment is maintained.
With this “Golden Visa” you can travel and reside in any of the Schengen member-countries.
